Boring

Last 2 weeks of summer, what did we do? Nothing much.
We finished dog sitting yesterday, so I am anxious to clean the carpets. Lots of dog hair.
Hoping to get the book shelves moved out of my new sewing room.

Going to the temple Sat for baptisms with family names for Jamie and Glenn. Our FHE was really good last night, about family history.

Does my blog bore you?

Crawling from the Wreckage

Yesterday I blogged at the beginning of the day. I then went to my chiro and on the way there heard radio DJ's playing bits of "bad songs". It was amusing. One of the songs was, "Crawling from the Wreckage". Hmmn. I immediately thought this was a good thing. If you're crawling, you made it, you survived. You are not walking, you are harmed, BUT you made it! This is a good thing. Right? So after crawling out you look behind and complain? Of course I do. But one day I hope to see the silver lining, the glass half full, etc.

When I left the chiro my neck was WAY better! I was pumped up even. I was happy! OMG!

I came home to my broken washing machine and fixed it with 2 paper clips and a sewing tool helped me. I am so cool.

I am going to write down, one day, this big "issue" I've been dealing with my whole life. It is simple, but not. I love learning! I love growing and developing. I am going to write in my journal about my wreckage. I am still crawling.

Laundry List

Argh! Washing Machine is STILL not working properly.

My expensive new iron was leaking so I exchanged it this week-end, hope it works now. I used my old GE one this morning and thought, "What's the big deal about Rowenta?" I hope this new one is a miracle worker.

Jamie bridal shower went well. I am so done with parties. We even skipped an open house last night.

3 weeks until school starts.

Bernic Mac died. He was so YOUNG! He had the same lung disease that my dad does.

I love that even when I'm making poor choices, I can still have the blessing of learning and growing. This past week has been a new step in my growth towards my ultimate goal of living with my Father in Heaven. It was just a little step but I am feeling grateful that I was ready. It is amazing that each little thing in my life contributes to this tiny growth. It is one that I'll have to ponder for awhile.

What Up

In no order except what came to my mindlessness;

  • Feet hurt
  • dog hair
  • Wonderful Gold Star week-end getaway with hubby
  • Movie jobs
  • chores
  • hair cut
  • another party here this Sat. (Jamie's)
  • rearrange rooms so I will have a sewing only room, its pink
  • I want to buy a new sewing machine (Juki 98Q) straight stitch only, but fast
  • hubby will convert an oak cabinet into a custom sewing table!
  • picked raspberries yesterday, but totally not worth it, won't go back there (kids didn't like seeing the rats)
  • I Won a blender (I don't need, it's still in the box) as part of the grand opening of the new portion of mall
  • Having lunch with my big bro today, he has bz trip here

I'm always tired by Thursday.

Color

Awhile back 2 friends were talking about what color your personality is.

One of them gave me the book and I took the test. I was about half way done when I realized "I'm a blue hands down." Yep, over half my answers were for blue. Only 2 were yellow.
My whole family took the test. The first 4 who took it were 4 different colors. Jamie and my hubby are yellow. Almost identical scores. Ironic.
I think we change in seasons of life though. I'll have to go read some more about it.

Week-End

Friday
Bite of Seattle was fun. It was great to go with Jamie, someone who wanted to be adventures and try things we have never had before. And to not worry about how much money I had. That was a quick $40 from me and $20 for her, including the movie. We had Goat Curry (sorry Elizabeth), Lamb gyro, sweet rice balls, wild boar chili, lumpia, Thia chicken and a coconut. Loved the sweet rice balls, couldn't finish the coconut milk. The chili had good flavor but was to hot for us.

Mamma Mia! We saw it downtown since we were there. It was a little raunchy. Laughed all the way through it! Gotta have the sound track! Can't wait to go see it again. This time with my hubby.

It was very fun for me to see Jamie adore the city. She took lots of pix. If I wasn't a mom I would SO love to live in a city! Jamie has a room mate who lived for a short while in Manhattan, I'm so jealous. Lots of different looking people with very different life choices. Like the biker with long hair and a Harley jacket. Sure don't see that here in the suburbs, oh wait yes I did, the noise ticked me off. I'm so conflicted.

Saturday
Hosted an Open House for 2 families leaving our ward. Lots of great food. Thanks Mel.

Sunday
Primary, not going to say a word...

I got nothing

Jamie and I are going to "Bite of Seattle" tonight after she get off work.

Then we are going to see MAMA MIA! A fun Mother/Daughter movie night!

Summer is a busy time, so I don't blog much. I wish I could blog about what is up in my life, but I don't want anything to come back and bite me later in life.

Home

4 of July was awhile ago, but preparing to have 55 people over wears me out, for 2 weeks.

I missed picking strawberries. The place I go only had them for 2 1/2 weeks.

4 of July and the testimony meeting afterwards made me realize how much I miss "home". I was emotional already before the closing song. Then I kind of lost it. The "Battle Hymn of the Republic" can only be song by the "Mormon Choir of D.C." with Daddy. That version will always be my favorite. (I am tearing up even now). After church, with hubby in the privacy of our bedroom, I could finally say the words out loud, "I want to go home." As an A.F. Brat this is not something said very often.

"I want to go home." -I'm still teary eyed.
